Merger offers Trailer Users More

Anglian Trailer Centre Showroom

Having long enjoyed a strong reputation as East Anglia’s leading supplier of trailers for leisure and professionals alike, Anglian Trailer Centre’s merger with Norwich based Agrimark, has resulted in one of the UK’s largest one-stop-shops for every trailer need.

Trading locally under the Anglian Trailer Centre brand, the business has now expanded in to premises at Overland Business Park, Sicklesmere, Bury St Edmunds. Boasting a two-storey showroom, there is a huge array of trailers on display and in stock - whatever the need, whatever the budget.

Extensive on-site workshops, a spares department, fabrication bay and a tow bar fitting centre are further enhanced by the region’s largest fleet of hire trailers with everything from van trailers and car transporters to camping trailers and refrigerated and freezer trailers.

Anglian Trailer Centre also stocks and services robust and cost-effective quad bikes. Manufactured by Artic Cat, the USA’s leading manufacturer, these quads are now making an impact throughout Europe, which until now has been dominated by Japanese brands. Most models within the range are fully road legal and can be supplied licensed, with number plates.

With so much under one roof, Managing Director Chris Winchester comments, “unlike most competitors, we offer trailers from stock. In many cases they can be collected on the day of purchase. We also pride ourselves on being able to offer advice to customers on all areas linked to trailer ownership, including weights, sizes, licensing requirements, insurance and security.”

Whether you need a standard trailer, a custom designed one, or spares and accessories for your own trailer, Anglian Trailer Centre is your one-stop-shop, where sound advice is given with a friendly smile.

Trailers and a Whole Lot More

Whether you’re looking to buy a leisure trailer that will last, you need repairs to your existing trailer, or you’re a business or individual looking to customise or rent a trailer, Anglian Trailer Centre’s new premises near Bury St Edmunds offer a one-stop shop for anything connected with trailers

A trailer should last for many years, if it is well-maintained and correctly serviced. With customers going back over 25 years, Anglian Trailer Centre is certainly in the business of matching customers with the right quality trailer for their needs, and at its new home, offers extensive workshop facilities, plus a comprehensive spare parts section to keep your trailer in good order.

Last year the business merged with Agrimark, and now offers both leisure and business customers full facilities at its spacious premises on the A134 at Sicklesmere, which encompass a showroom, workshop, fabrication bay and spares department.

“We have a huge range of customers,” says Chris Winchester, who runs the business with his brother Mark and their fellow director Chris Lloyd. “We can provide everything from a small trailer to go camping with or to take rubbish to the tip, right through to specialist trailers such as horse boxes, those which will take cars and quad bikes, and even refrigerated or catering and exhibition units.”

The experienced team at Anglian Trailer Centre cherry picks the best of a variety of makes for various uses, and stocks over a hundred trailers from Denmark, France Germany  - and Dorset! - which you can view in the airy, two-level showroom.

“Though our website gives a feel for what we can offer, there is no substitute for tyre-kicking,” says Chris, “so we would always encourage customers to come along and talk to us about what they are looking for, and take a look at what’s in the showroom. Unlike many competitors, we can often offer a trailer which is ready for you to take away from stock that day, and though our range starts at just a few hundred pounds right up to £25-30,000, we do see ourselves as supplying a ‘lifetime purchase’, which will last for many years if looked after.”

As well getting the benefit of the Anglian Trailer Centre team’s extensive product knowledge, you can also get up-to-date information on the current legalities relating to trailers. Their knowledge of all things to do with trailers is invaluable.

“The days of a trailer being legal as long as it was towed in a straight line are long gone,” says Chris Winchester. “We can also advise on size and weight issues, ensure your trailer is correctly serviced, and, of course, check over any ‘bargain’ trailers you may have bought online to check that they are safe, roadworthy and legal.”

For the business user, the Agrimark heritage offers a guarantee of quality, being the UK’s largest supplier of refrigerated trailers. Anglian Trailer Centre also prides itself on offering the largest fleet of hire trailers in the county, from box trailers to pick up furniture or drop kids off at uni, to larger refrigerated hire units for catering.

A new line which you can also view at the Anglian Trailer Centre showroom is the quad bikes, which are all road legal and can be supplied licensed with number plates. Extra-value service like this is just another example of the ways in which Anglian Trailer Centre goes one step further to do the job properly, and this new addition to the range is proving popular with smallholders and farmers.

And, of course, if fixing up your trailer is a job you are happy and feel qualified to do yourself, the well-stocked spares department at Anglian Trailer Centre is an excellent local resource where you can pick up a variety of spares and accessories. Chris Winchester also reports that tow bar fitting is a growing part of the business, as customers appreciate that, to avoid the risk of creating damage given the level of vehicle electrics these days, it requires a professional approach.

So whether you use a trailer or quad bike already, or are thinking of buying or hiring, or having a trailer customised to your needs, why not visit Anglian Trailer Centre and talk to the friendly experts?

This Cat Tackles Any Task

Whether you run a livery yard or keep a couple of horses on your own land any equipment that makes your life easier and saves time is important. Many horse owners would prefer to spend more time riding their horses than poo-picking fields, tidying barns, harrowing arenas and mucking out, but land management is an important part of horse and yard ownership.

Most horses live out for at least part of the time and access to good grazing provides the horse with exercise, a varied, fibre-rich diet and fresh air, but poor grazing can be damaging.

Fields must be poo-picked regularly to manage worm levels and reduce the areas of ‘sick’ grass that horses avoid. Many people rotate paddocks to rest some areas of grazing, but on top of this there may be the need to roll, harrow, top and reseed some paddocks, to help maintain the quality of grass for the horses and reverse the effects of heavy poaching in the winter, which can turn fields into mud baths. Traditionally a tractor was used to do this, but in today’s economic climate buying a tractor just for field maintenance is an expensive option. Instead, why not try a heavy-duty quad bike?

The Arctic Cat 400 EFT H1 is a high powered and reliable four-wheel drive off roader with the capabilities to tackle any job around the yard. Taking up much less storage space than a tractor, but with the strength to pull a trailer, harrow or cultivator, the Arctic Cat 400 series is suitable for any yard job and is also road legal. Just attach the Arctic Cat speedpoint harrow to keep your ménage flat and lump free, or attach a lightweight trailer to move hay, feed or bedding wherever you need it.

Pushing a heavy wheelbarrow through deep winter mud to collect droppings from around a multitude of paddocks is definitely not an easy job. However, using a quad bike to tow a trailer means that a job that could take half the day is reduced to a matter of minutes. Just attach the trailer, take a shovel and hop on to reach even the most inaccessible parts of your land.

Regular field checks are also important to ensure the horses are safe and well. At the same time regular fence checks need to be made to make sure there are no holes in the fence and the fields should be checked for poisonous plants and litter. The Arctic Cat 400 series makes this job infinitely easier, causing less damage to the fields than a tractor and coping with muddy conditions better than a four-wheel drive car.

If you need a more powerful vehicle with a larger carrying and towing capacity, there is a full range of Arctic Cat quad bikes, including the Prowler XT 650 H1 and the 700 TRV Diesel. These machines are perfect for any yard job and the Prowler even comes with the option of a variety of covers and cabins, to protect you from the worst of the winter weather. The Arctic Cat range combines the agility of an ATV with big loading capacity and The is perfect for anyone who has to deal with rough terrain without having to afford a traditional off road vehicle in terms of cost, space and maintenance.

Make your life easier and spend more quality time with your horse without compromising on land management and welfare. Using an Arctic Cat allows you to cover a wider area in less time, getting those annoying jobs done quickly and efficiently, and as an added bonus the Arctic Cats are perfect for fun off road riding.
